Ich weiß nicht genau was ich erwartet habe, aber dieses Buch hat miene ERwartungen leider nicht erfüllen können.Die Qualität des Ganzen ist eher schlecht. Die Seiten sind sehr dünn und es gibt keine Farbdarstellungen. Das Kapitel zu Coloration fällt auch eher schlicht aus (obwohl das ein Thema ist, das mich besonders beschäftit hatte). Den Schluss zu ziehen, dass man sich damit nicht so stark auseinandersetzen muss, da Mangas ja schwarz-weiß sind, finde ich persönlich etwas kläglich.Auf die meisten anderen Funktionen wird ganz gut eingegangen, aber ich WARNE hier: Das Buch ist nicht mehr für aktuelle Versionen von Manga Studio! D.h. dass sich mittlerweile einiges geändert hat. (Das Buch vermittelt enige Dinge, die man vielleicht nüttzlich findet, auch wenn man Manga Studio 5 hat, aber vieles ist auch veraltet).Ich persönlich konnte mehr aus der digitalen Anleitung, die eh mitgeliefert wurde, anfangen, als mit dieser Extra-Investition.Fazit: Einige Tips sind nützlich, der Großteil aber eher überflüssig.
Hallo zusammen,habe Manga 5 Studio angeschafft. Bin Hobbyzeichner / Maler und möchte mich auch in Comics versuchen.Wer mit Manga 5 Studio sinnvoll arbeiten will, kommt an diesem Buch nicht vorbei. Es bezieht sich zwar auf Manga 4 bzw. Manga 4 EX aber die Funktionen die in Manga 5 Studio neu sind, waren größtenteils bereits in Manga 4 EX enthalten ( Außer den Farb-Optionen und den 3D Anteilen).Außerdem ist zu beachten, dass die Hilfe in Manga 5 nur mit "JAPANISCHEN" Screenshots erfügbar ist ( zur Zeit ). Damit kann man nicht arbeiten bzw lernen.Gruß
This book is sort of the missing manual, but not really an excellent manual. It fulfills the basic needs, but cannot compare with the quality standard that I am used to from "for Dummies" books. With version 5 there is fortunately a real manual that is actually better than this book.
Leider deckt das Buch nur Manga Studio 3 ab und konzentriert sich hierbei auf die "Debut"-Version. Die EX-Version wird zwar am Rande behandelt sowie in einem Bonuskapitel auf der beiliegenden CD, das ist aber doch ein bisschen wenig.Grundsätzliches Wissen aus diesem Buch lässt sich auch auf Folgeversionen von Manga Studio anwenden, aber in einigen Bereichen hat sich seitdem doch vieles geändert. Leider konzentriert sich das Buch sehr stark auf die Basics (siehe auch der Titel...). Wer sich das optimale Handbuch für das Programm erhofft hat, wird hier enttäuscht.
NOWHERE in the product information does it mention that this book was written for an older-than-current version of Manga Studio. If it had, I would not have wasted my money on this useless bundle of dead trees. I suppose if I were using one of the older releases of Manga Studio, this would have been a pretty decent, comprehensive manual. But not for Manga Studio 5 and 5 EX. If you're considering buying this book because you just installed 5, forget it. It will only lead to frustration.
The book is detailed and written for novices just like me. I was surprised that there was a CD inside to get to work right away, that's just what I wanted to do. I do have Manga Studio software, but it never told me how to get started and finish at least one page, and then the next. Manga Studio for dummies gets me from the opening page to either imported material or freshly new art on the open page, to coloring, editing and finishing, not to forget saving it. I'm so glad I bought the book.
Whether you have the intro version of Manga Studio or the Pro version (EX), you will enjoy having this book handy. The cheat sheet alone is worth it..! ~8) As with all the Dummies volumes I possess the editorial staff has done a good job of helping the author outline and bring to clear focus the elements most needed to provide you with the answers to 'those mind numbing puzzles' we who enjoy such things as beating our heads into our keyboard at times, come across in our search to produce the 'COMIC of all comics'... I learned of this book on the Content Paradise Forum, having purchased a couple of e-frontiers products and desiring more input from fellow users of the Manga Studio software. It is only from those that have been working with the software for a bit that you get the nuances that are not normally shown face up,.. and thankfully, Doug had help from others like 'pencilkiller' as well with the main info. Get this book if you have Manga Studio (the debut version or the pro) or even if you are thinking of getting MS! Get this book, it will give you a HUGE head start. Good Job Doug!One P.S. This software is NOT just for comix! It can be used for book illustration, architectural illustration, and commercial graphics (even logo design!) in combination with other graphics softwares such as PhotoShop or the GIMP, etc., so this book is invaluable in unlocking the 'keys to the kingdom' (so-to-speak)!
I bought this planning to use it to help me with Manga Studio 5 but unfortunately it seems to only cover MS 4. This is understandable seeing as how MS 5 is still relatively new, but I would have liked to know that prior to buying this book. Also, if the author could re-release this with updated information about MS 5 I would definitely buy it because this book does a great job of explaining things but MS 5 is just too different from MS 4 I guess to be able to use this book for both.
Like most books in the "dummies" series, there was a wealth of information provided in a basic form. Was well worth the cost.
